Christmas

As I promised in my last post, I have a post featuring the cards I got for Christmas. The only cards I got for Christmas this year was a 1994 Topps almost complete set.

The set was 792 cards, but I only had 778, because the set was missing cards, 39, 149, 151, 177, 195, 200, 263, 268, 318, 379, 407, 484, 627, 777.

Here are some of my favorite cards from the 1994 Topps set.

The set actually came with 2 Bob Wickmans. I don't why, but I would have preferred either a card the set didn't come with or a duplicate of a player I actually like, or at least heard of.

I like this card of Kelly Wunsch, because it was one of the dozen or so featuring players drafted in 1993. Of all of the 1993 Draft Picks featured in this set, Kelly Wunsch is the only one wearing his college's uniform. All the other players were wearing the hat and jersey of the team they were drafted by.

I like how this Ryne Sandberg has him going through the motions of catching the ball and quickly throwing it to first-base to turn the double play.

This card picturing Rey Sanchez has a picture of him signing a card of a pitcher. I wonder who the fan is who gave a card of a pitcher to be signed by a short-stop.

This Jose Rijo card has a picture of him shooting the fans with a water gun. That must be a fun experience for the fans, if it were summer. Who knows why Jose Rijo was randomly squirting the fans with a water gun, during what looks like right before the game.

This Mike Cook card is #791, but #791 is also a checklist. If you look at one of the other checklists, it says that number 791 is supposed to be a checklist. The back of the binder also came with a David Justice that was number 31, when it was not supposed to be there. I don't know if these are error cards or what, but they are interesting nonetheless.

Well, those were the only cards I got for Christmas this year, but I'm sure I will get more before next Christmas. Until next time...
